President Donald Trump hinted on Monday, Sept. 15, that a deal has been reached to resolve issues over TikTok's China-based ownership , days before the next deadline for the social media platform to be banned in the U.S.

"A deal was also reached on a 'certain' company that young people in our Country very much wanted to save. They will be very happy!" Trump wrote in a Truth Social post shortly after 8 a.m. ET on Sept. 15.

Trump also said he will be speaking to Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday, Sept. 19, adding that their relationship "remains a very strong one."

At a trade meeting between U.S. and China officials in Madrid, Spain, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the framework deal is to switch the app to a U.S.-based ownership, Reuters reported.
