Pedro Martinez praises Mets for promoting trio of rookie pitchers

The New York Mets have been struggling this month, especially following their eight-game losing streak, which featured a four-game sweep in Philadelphia. In the second half of the year, the Mets have struggled, thanks in part to the pitching staff.

Clay Holmes, Kodai Senga, David Peterson, and Sean Manaea have all not been their first-half selves and have led the Mets to make a trio of bold decisions. They called up Nolan McLean, Brandon Sproat, and Jonah Tong this season; aggressive moves that, if it weren't for the rotation struggles, might not have happened.
