The soundtrack to Netflix’s animated film “ KPop Demon Hunters ” claims another milestone moment arriving at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the first time. The soundtrack’s leading single, Huntr/x’s “ Golden ,” simultaneously leads the Hot 100 for a fifth week as the longest running No. 1 song by an animated act in chart’s history.
After spending seven nonconsecutive weeks stalled at No. 2, the “ KPop Demon Hunters ” soundtrack finally ascended to the top spot with 128,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States this week, according to Luminate. The leap to No. 1 follows the release of a deluxe edition on Sept. 5, featuring bonus tracks and the album’s first CD release.
This marks the first soundtrack to top the Billboard 200 since Disney’s “Encanto” ruled
