A new study reveals that California experienced the fourth-most-significant rise in arson crimes across the United States.
The research by Las Vegas injury law firm, Ladah Injury & Car Accident Lawyers , analyzed FBI Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) data for arson offenses across all 50 states between 2023 and 2024. The percentage change in reported arson crimes was calculated to uncover where fire-related offenses are surging the fastest.
California ranks fourth, with an 8.7% increase in arson crimes. The Golden State recorded 6,981 incidents in 2023, which climbed to 7,589 in 2024, marking an increase of 608 cases.
