PRICHARD, Ala. (WKRG) — Prichard officials are taking steps to prevent more election delays when voters return to the polls.

The city is one of several local communities holding runoffs next week.

"For the 23rd, everything should be perfect," Prichard City Clerk Jacqueline Niles said.

When voters went to the polls on August 26th, voting machines jammed at two polling locations, which delayed results.

The county, which leased the machines to Prichard, blamed the problem on user error.

According to Niles, the city has a plan to prevent that from happening again.
