The battle over short-term rentals in New Orleans continues as Airbnb plans to appeal a judge's ruling.

Last week, Federal Judge Jay Zainey dismissed a lawsuit filed by Airbnb and New Orleans residents, saying, "There is no fundamental right to rent out residential property on a short term basis," upholding the city's authority to force platforms to confirm listings are legal. Advertisement

Eric Bay is a property manager and short-term rental advocate. He disagreed with the judge's decision, saying, "We have basic constitutional rights, not just state rights, but constitutional rights we feel should be upheld."
