SOUTH CAROLINA (LOOTPRESS) – An 82-year-old woman has been arrested after deputies say she shot and killed her husband at a health care facility in Hilton Head, SC.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 10:30 a.m. Friday to Preston Health Center at the Cypress of Hilton Head.

Inside a patient’s room, deputies said they found Harriett Kay Recker, 82, alongside her 81-year-old husband, who had suffered a gunshot wound.

The husband died at the scene.

Recker was taken into custody and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

She is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
