The Lompoc Unified School District will host its annual Día de los Muertos celebration Sunday, Nov. 2, from 1 to 6 p.m., at the El Camino Community Center, 320 N. J St.
The family-friendly event will feature traditional altars, student displays, live entertainment, face painting, a Catrina contest, arts and crafts, food booths, and Pan de Muerto with hot chocolate.
Community organizations will also host information tables and activities.
According to Assistant Superintendent Brian Jaramillo, the event is “about remembrance, love, and celebration of life,” adding that the district is excited to welcome students, families and community members to participate.
Those interested in hosting an altar, providing an information table, or joining a contest must register by Oct. 17 at shorturl.a
