A MAN who police allege was behind a one-punch attack that left another man with a fractured skull has been bailed to live away from Armidale.

Mitchell Mark Ball spent one night in custody before being conditionally released to stay out of Armidale, where the alleged attack occurred.

Police allege 32-year-old Ball punched a 34-year-old man in the head about 12.30am on Saturday , September 13.

The force of the alleged assault saw the 34-year-old man fall to the ground unconscious, on the corner of Rusden and Marsh streets in Armidale.

Police allege Ball then walked from the scene before emergency services were alerted.

The moments before the attack, and the interactions between the pair, are now the subject of a police probe by Armidale detectives.
