NORMAN — Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables provided an update on the statuses of injured receiver Keontez Lewis and offensive lineman Michael Fasusi during his weekly radio show Monday night.

Lewis exited OU’s win at Temple last Saturday after taking a big hit from an Owls defender, but the Sooners are optimistic about the Southern Illinois transfer’s availability for their game against Auburn this coming weekend.

“We expect for him to hopefully be back, so we’ll see,” Venables said of Lewis.

Fasusi, meanwhile, injured his ankle late in OU’s win over Michigan two weeks ago and did not play against Temple. He traveled with the team to Philadelphia but stood on the sideline all afternoon, wearing a walking boot.
