Six farmworkers from Stockton were killed in a suspected DUI crash in Napa , leaving one survivor apart from the driver.
Marbin Santiz Ruiz remembers what happened on Sept. 7.
"We crashed into a tree," Santiz Ruiz said.
The crash involved seven farm workers packed into a minivan driven by 53-year-old Norberto Celerino, who collided with a tree.
Santiz Ruiz, hospitalized with major injuries, expressed his feelings of isolation following the crash.
"I'm worried. [When you're alone] nobody checks in or visits you," he said.
With no immediate family in the U.S., he finds the recovery process particularly challenging.
He also shared that one of the victims, Pedro López Gómez , was a close friend he had known since arriving in California five years ago.
