Rock legend Neil Young and his backing band are facing a trademark infringement lawsuit from luxury fashion brand Chrome Hearts for allegedly unlawfully using its name, Rolling Stone reported.
The lawsuit, filed in California federal court, takes aim at Young, his bandmates Micah Nelson, Corey McCormick, Anthony LoGerfo and Spooner Oldham, along with Young’s production company, The Other Shoe Productions.
According to the complaint reviewed by Rolling Stone, Chrome Hearts claims it never authorized Young or his team to use its trademarked name.
The fashion brand alleges that the band’s name “Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts” represents a deliberate attempt to “exploit Chrome Hearts reputation in the market.”
