BARDSTOWN, Ky. — Two days ahead of sentencing, prosecutors are pushing back against requests for a new trial by the final men convicted in Crystal Rogers murder.
Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson are scheduled to be sentenced in the Bardstown mother's 2015 disappearance on Wednesday.
Nelson County Judge Charles Simms is expected to take up a number of motions prior to final sentencing, including Houck and Lawson's requests for a new trial.
After a nine-day trial in July, Lawson was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence. Houck, Rogers' ex-boyfriend, was convicted of murder (principle or accomplice) and tampering with physical evidence.
