PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - In November, Washington County voters will decide on a measure to fund police, mental health, domestic violence programs and more.

If approved, property owners could pay $0.66 per thousand of assessed value, which is about $19 per month for a home valued at $348,600.

The funds would support crime investigation and prosecution, expanding child protections, mental health crisis teams, drug enforcement, jail operations, and expanded victim and domestic violence services.

The current public safety levy will expire June 2026.

The tax would last five years and raise $337 million if passed.

If the measure does not pass, these services won’t get the proposed funding and property taxes will not increase.
