Officers and deputies helped escort the body of Edgewater Police Officer David Jewell who was shot and killed Monday at a Circle K in Ormond-by-the-Sea. Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said Jewell was shot at point-blank range in the back of the head by an employee of the Circle K in an apparent targeted attack.
