Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) as police respond to an ongoing incident on the Bruce Highway at Canoona.

A PSPA was declared at 1.42pm after a vehicle crashed near the Canoona Speed Farm before the occupants fled on foot and are believed to be hiding in the area.

The boundaries encompass a 2-kilometre radius of where the incident occurred on Kunwarara Road (Bruce Highway), north of Raspberry Creek Road.

Residents in the area are urged to remain indoors and the public are advised to avoid the area.
