IDAHO, USA — Families needing care for a child or spouse with a disability say they cannot find anyone to help.
"It's been a struggle because while this is real life, it was simpler for two years," said Preston Reynolds, who cares for his daughter and wife.
The shortage comes months after Idaho ended a pandemic-era program that paid parents and spouses, like Reynolds, to provide care, forcing many to rely on single incomes and putting a severe strain on their finances.
The federal government approved the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's request to end the program in July amid fraud and other concerns.
Trixy Wade has contacted dozens of agencies over the past several months in an effort to find someone to care for her 10-year-old daughter, Harper.
"I'm told there are no careg
