CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has issued a public warning to educators across the state following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Wednesday.

In a statement, the agency said any staff members who promote “reprehensible or inappropriate material” connected to Kirk could be investigated or disciplined. State cracks down on teachers over Charlie Kirk remarks—licenses at risk

Nancy Vera, President of the Corpus Christi American Federation of Teachers, said the focus should remain on student needs — not political tension.

“This drama we don't need right now especially when our children are in so much need. Let's talk about special education needs, let’s talk about needs of children who don't have anything to eat at home,” Vera said.
