SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A 50-year-old driver was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Saturday on State Route 56 in Rancho Peñasquitos.

Tomasz Bordyczewski, of Poway, was identified as the deceased, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed.

The incident occurred around 9:52 p.m. on eastbound SR-56 at Salmon River Road.

Bordyczewski was driving a sedan when it collided with another sedan before veering into an opposing lane of traffic and colliding with an additional vehicle, according to medical officials.

First responders confirmed the driver's death at the scene.
