A beloved bar in Oldham is facing ‘relentless online abuse’ after being falsely identified as a New Orleans pub of the same name attributed with writing a controversial comment on social media about Charlie Kirk’s death.

The Courtyard Brewery in Royton has been inundated with negative remarks ever since screenshots were circulated online that appeared to show the US bar criticising Kirk's viewpoints immediately after the 31-year-old right-wing activist was shot dead in Orem, USA, last week.

The owners of the Shepherd Street venue posted a desperate plea on their Facebook page aimed at American visitors to clarify they were not the authors of the original comment.
