While he is best known worldwide for his ability in the ring, Ricky Hatton was also renowned for his sense of humour.

The Hitman, who was found dead at his home at the weekend at the age of 46 , was a frequent speaker on the after dinner circuit - with people sharing fond memories of how he could make anyone laugh.

The boxing icon from Hyde also once memorably brought this sense of comedy to his choice of vehicle, when he purchased one of the original Reliant Robin vans used in classic comedy series Only Fools and Horses.

Hatton , a lifelong fan of the show, splashed out nearly £4,000 for the van - and even donned a sheepskin and flat cap inspired by Del Boy Trotter for a laugh.
