FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno State lecturer has been placed on leave after making what the university called a "disturbing" comment about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

A video circulating online appears to show the lecturer making the remark during class. Action News has not independently verified the video's authenticity, but it has been viewed more than 250,000 times and sparked strong reactions from students.

"Wishing death on people is not kind, it's not loving," said Fresno State student Adrian Ramos. "It's not something that I like."

Kirk, a controversial political activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University. Authorities arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson about 33 hours later.
