CLAYTON — A St. Louis County councilman will introduce a resolution "honoring the life and legacy" of Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist who was killed last week in a shooting.
Republican Councilman Mark Harder, of Ballwin, requested the resolution ahead of Tuesday's regular council meeting. Council resolutions are symbolic and often honor someone a council member admires.
But resolutions can also be controversial, such as when the council approved a resolution supporting gender-affirming health care in 2023, or when it passed another the same year supporting Israel after the deadly Oct. 7 Hamas attack.
Harder didn't immediately respond to a request for comment Monday.
