Few will complain about runners in their community, but you shouldn't hear a peep from the neighbors if you join the Tuesday Cemetery Walking and Running Group at Spring Hill Cemetery Park and Arboretum in Charleston on Tuesday evenings.
Through Oct. 28, the group meets weekly at 5:30 p.m. near the Ratrie Arboretum. Runners traverse their own paths, either in groups or independently, along over 5 miles of trails at the 168-acre cemetery. The event is free and all are welcome.
Established in 1869 as Charleston's municipal cemetery, the Spring Hill Cemetery is located at 1555 Farnsworth Drive. It is the final resting place for many early settlers of Charleston and the Kanawha Valley.
