Posts by employees on social media led two school districts in the Erie region to issue statements the day after conservative activist Charlie Kirk 's killing in Utah.

Neither the statement from the North East School District in Erie County nor the statement from the Crawford Central School District in Crawford County mentions Kirk . The Crawford Central statement references "a teacher's account that included personal commentary regarding a recent event." The North East release refers only to an "employee Facebook post."

Kirk, a Turning Point USA co-founder, was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
