BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 59-year-old man was beaten to death inside a Brooklyn bodega on Monday night, according to the NYPD.

Police said it happened on Knickerbocker Avenue around 7 p.m. A fight broke out between two people in the bodega, according to authorities.

Police said one of the men involved in the fight, 59-year-old Jerry Hill, was hit in the head with a baton-like object. His head trauma was so severe that he died from his injuries after being rushed to the hospital, according to authorities.

Police said two people were taken into custody and an investigation is ongoing.
