MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - President Donald Trump signed an order Monday sending the National Guard into Memphis to combat crime.
In a Monday press conference, he said it will only happen with his Memphis Safe Task Force he announced.
This task force includes sending the National Guard along with several other agencies to the Bluff City.
“We are sending in the big force now,” he said.
The National Guard, FBI, ATF, ICE, and other federal agencies are heading to Memphis.
It’s all part of President Trump’s Memphis Safe Task Force.
“The task force is going to be a replica, like I said and I think it is going to be equally successful. We had a tremendous success in Washington, I can tell you and everyone knows it,” said President Trump.
