A Cedar Falls man has been arrested for allegedly sexaully and physically assaulting a woman in downtown Iowa City early Sunday morning, according to KCRG. Police say that 20 year old Joseph Kenkel was walking north on Dubuque Street after 2:00 a.m. when he allegedly put his arm around a woman and told her he would walk her home. While walking with the victim Kenkel allegedly unbuttoned her skirt and put his hand down her skirt and fondled the victim. The victim called out for help and two bystanders came to her aid. Kenkel is accused of then trying to punch one of the bystanders but missed and hit the victim in the back of the head. He has been charged with Assault With Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse and Assault Causing Bodily Injury.
