LAFAYETTE, La (KLFY) - The Courtney Granger Memorial Award will host a special fundraising concert on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at The Sidecar in Lafayette.

The Courtney Granger Memorial Award, was established in 2021 to honor the life and legacy of beloved fiddler and vocalist Courtney Granger. The award was created following Courtney’s passing, with funding provided through the community that initially helped cover his funeral costs.

Since then, the award has continued to support young traditional Louisiana musicians, reflecting Courtney’s commitment to Cajun and Creole music, says Kenneth Granger, Courtney's father and co-chair of the award committee.
