‘Science of reading,’ in early stages, may be blunting top districts: Capitol Letter

Read this: Fewer Ohio public school districts received 4 and 5 stars in early literacy in the state report card on Monday than last year, Laura Hancock reports . These are the highest ratings in the state’s 1-5 star system. Ohio has begun to transition to the “science of reading” instructional approach.

Overall grades : Rich Exner has compiled overall grades and other report card details for all 600 school districts. Results by traditional public and charter schools can be found here . He also broke down report card results by community incomes and found 5-star districts had median incomes of $64,000 and 2-star districts had median incomes of $33,000.
