Geordies are the biggest home brewers in Britain, a study found. Researchers found that a fifth of folk from Newcastle and the North East had tried their hand at home brewing beer or ale.
People in Wales came next, at 18%, followed by those living in the South East and the East Midlands, where 17% had given it a go in both regions.
The West Midlands rounded out the top five, with 16% of residents having tried to create their own tipple. Throughout the country as a whole, 16% of us had given brewing a try, the study by Cornish bakery Ginsters found. It works out at just over nine mill
