Costco's Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene was recalled this weekend

A recall notice from the wholesale store specifies that there is a risk of the unopened sparkling wine bottles "shattering"

Costco customers should check their bottles of wine.

The wholesale store issued a recall for its Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene because of a risk of unopened bottles spontaneously “shattering,” according to a release from Costco.

Costco members were notified of the product alert via email on Sept. 12, according to Allrecipes . The notice , which is also visible on Costco's website, explains that the sparkling wine posed a risk of “unopened bottles shattering, even when not handled or in use.”
