Police in Auburn, Massachusetts, are asking the public to avoid Mill Street and the surrounding area while they conduct an "extensive search" for a missing person.

They said in a Facebook poast Tuesday morning that there will be a large police presence from Auburn and other assisting agencies, including K9 and drone units.

"We ask that the public not attempt to search on their own in order to avoid contaminating the area," they said.

The search comes two days after Auburn police posted on Facebook that they were looking for 58-year-old Darren Cyr, of Auburn, who was last seen by family members on Friday and had been reported missing.

Police said in an update to the post on Tuesday morning that Cyr remains missing
