The Decide DeKalb Development Authority (economic development organization) has approved over $6 million in tax allocation district (TAD) funding for two projects aimed at boosting food access and housing options in the county.
$3.8 million of the funds has been awarded to Candler Crossing, a grocery-anchored development located at the southeast corner of Candler Road and Glenwood Road.
The $28.9 million project, headed by Venture South Investments, will feature a 50,325-square-foot grocery store, 11,200-square-foot retail building, green space, walking trail, as well as transit upgrades.
Construction on Candler Crossing is expected to begin in spring 2026 with initial occupancy by October 2027. Developers estimate the project will create more than 100 construction jobs and 183 permanen
