Maurene Comey was fired from her position as a prosecutor for the Southern District of New York in July via a memorandum that gave no explanation for her dismissal aside from citing the president's powers under Article II of the Constitution. "In truth, there is no legitimate explanation,” the complaint, filed Monday, reads. “Rather, Defendants fired Ms. Comey solely or substantially because her father is former FBI Director James B. Comey, or because of her perceived political affiliation and beliefs, or both."
