ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) – Alderson Main Street’s Open Mic at the Depot ended its fourth season on Saturday, September 6th at the historic 1896 C&O train depot in Alderson.
Over twenty musicians and supporters enjoyed a potluck meal, then entertained each other with a variety of musical styles. Event organizer Marcia Sutherland reflected on the variety of instruments this season, including electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, ukulele, trombone, accordion, harmonica, and a cappella voice. She also noted the variety of genres, including country, rock, blues, jazz, swing, bluegrass, newgrass, gospel, opera, English/Scot/Irish ballads and drinking songs, and folk.
Plans are underway to present something new for the 2026 season, which will start in May. Stay tuned to Alderson M
