AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine’s public advocate is urging Central Maine Power customers to weigh in on a proposed five-year, $1.4 billion spending plan that could significantly raise electric rates beginning in October 2026.
CMP filed the proposal with the Maine Public Utilities Commission seeking to boost its revenue by more than $438 million over the five-year period.
Dubbed its "Investing in Maine’s Future Plan," the company calls for hiring 400 new full-time employees, including 200 line workers, and upgrading infrastructure across CMP's service area.
