(WKBN) - A bird listed on the endangered species list in Ohio is making a comeback, and it can be seen here locally.
The Sandhill Crane disappeared from the Buckeye State back in the 1930s.
But a recent count by volunteers from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources shows a 4% increase in sightings compared to 2024.
A few of those sightings were made in both Mahoning and Columbiana counties, but Trumbull County had higher numbers.
People can often see them at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area, which is a known habitat for the species.
