A Scots rape survivor said today she is "relieved" justice has been upheld after her attacker lost his bid to appeal the conviction.
John Buchanan was unanimously found guilty of the horrific rape at his flat in East Kilbride in November 2021 and sentenced to five years in prison at the High Court in Glasgow in February this year.
The 40-year-old, who was a door bouncer at the town's Shenanigans pub before it closed down, was also served with a 10-year non-harassment order and put on the sex offenders' register for life.
Buchanan was found guilty of assaulting his victim, seizing her by the body, restraining her, struggling with her, seizing her by the head, holding her nose restricting her breathing and raping her.
