SAULT STE. MARIE — A student at Sault's Malcolm High School was removed from school grounds by police officers on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 16.
There was a notable police presence seen at the school after a 911 call was made to report a potential threat. A safety hold was initiated at Malcolm High School, which is located in the Soo Township building.
The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, Michigan State Police and Sault Tribal Police all responded to the situation. Law enforcement worked alongside school officials to investigate the threat. Officials said that the investigation resulted in a 14-year-old student being removed from the campus before classes began.
