City-wide boil water advisory issued for Mount Vernon, Ill.

MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (KFVS) - The City of Mount Vernon Public Works Department issued a city-wide precautionary boil water advisory on Tuesday, September 16.

According to the public works department, the precautionary boil water advisory is because of low water pressure.

They said the advisory will continue until all required testing is completed and cleared under Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) regulations.

The city will make an announcement when the precautionary boil water advisory is lifted.
