Dozens of supporters gathered outside the Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS) on Monday, as the non-profit faces an eviction by the township, which was only recently given an extended deadline.
Last week, LAPS reported the Township of Langley terminated its agreement after 23 years of working together — leaving them with just one month to figure things out.
But, on Monday afternoon, the township announced it had reached an agreement to pause that termination.
The township says LAPS will continue to provide animal control and animal sheltering services to the township at the Patti Dale Animal Shelter for the length of the pause.
“The purpose of the temporary stay is to allow the parties additional time to continue negotiations over a new services agreement, which will be focused on
