BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Dozens of people were waiting outside the downtown Bakersfield courthouse Tuesday morning, which was closed except for court staff, judges and attorneys due to a power outage impacting it and the county administrative building, officials said.

Power went out around 9 p.m. Monday, said Kristin Davis, the court's public affairs officer. The courthouse at 1215 Truxtun Ave. -- where most civil cases are heard -- also was affected.

Power was restored to the courthouse at 1215 Truxtun Ave. around 9 a.m., but the outage at 1415 Truxtun Ave. -- where criminal cases are heard -- was ongoing.

Some hearings were being transferred from 1415 Truxtun Ave. to the other courthouse, Davis said.
