The body of a 21-year-old Black student was found hanging from a tree on Monday (September 15) at Delta State University.
According to WAPT, university police were alerted about a body discovered near the campus pickleball courts at roughly 7:05 a.m. The body was later identified as Demartravion “Trey” Reed, 21.
“Our community is deeply saddened by this loss, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to families and friends and all those who were impacted by Trey’s loss. I’ve spoken to Trey’s family and expressed our heartbreak,” Delta State University President Daniel J. Ennis said in a statement.
