Baltimore City firefighters will gather Tuesday evening to remember one of their own killed 30 year ago.
Eric Schaefer, 25, was killed on the night of Sept. 16, 1995 after a wall collapsed on him as he was battling an eight-alarm fire. That fire destroyed the Clipper Mill Industrial Park in north-central Baltimore.
Members of Schaefer’s family and colleagues will join Baltimore City Fire Chief James Wallace for a memorial service. It will take place at the site of the commemorative plaque that sits in the 2000 block of Clipper Park Road.
The ceremony is set to begin at 6 p.m.
