Jane Fonda had an emotional reaction to the news of Robert Redford’s death.
“It hit me hard this morning when I read that Bob was gone. I can’t stop crying,” the actress, 87, shared in a statement to Us Weekly on Tuesday, September 16. “He meant a lot to me and was a beautiful person in every way. He stood for an America we have to keep fighting for.”
News broke on Tuesday that Redford died at his home in Utah. According to a statement from his publicist Cindi Berger, shared via The New York Times, the actor died in his sleep. He was 89.
