TOWN OF SPRINGFIELD, Wis. -- The man who was struck by a vehicle and killed while crossing U.S. Highway 12 in the Town of Springfield over the weekend was a 77-year-old from Waunakee, authorities said Tuesday.

Ronald Wolfe died at the intersection of the highway near Kickaboo Road last Saturday night. A forensic examination found he died from injuries suffered in the crash.

According to the Dane county Sheriff's Office, Wolfe was crossing the highway when an eastbound driver struck him. The crash remains under investigation.
