With the school year now back in full swing, English-language public schools in the district are enforcing the provincial directive of banning cellphones during class.

This is the second school year where a strict cellphone ban is in place following instructions from the former Minister of Education Stephen Lecce issued in 2024 , which are being carried out again this year. In the plan, all cellphone usage during instruction time has been prohibited, with differing rules for various grade ranges.
