A survivor of a Napa County crash that left six people dead spoke out from his hospital bed Monday.

Marbin Santiz Ruiz told KCRA-TV he was riding in a minivan along with other farmworkers on Sept. 7 when the driver, Norberto Celerino, crashed into a tree.

Paramedics rushed Santiz Ruiz and Celerino to the hospital with serious injuries. The six other passengers, all from the Stockton area, died.

Investigators say Celerino was intoxicated when they crashed, adding that he had three prior DUI convictions.

Celerino is charged with six felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
