Yogurt maker Chobani is facing backlash online from some people after announcing a partnership with Planet Harvest, a company co-founded by Ivanka Trump, as social media users call for boycotts over ties to conservative politics.

Chobani unveiled the partnership on Sept. 12, saying it would work with Planet Harvest to source “imperfect” fruits and vegetables produce that is typically left in fields because it doesn’t meet grocery store size or appearance standards. The Chicago-based company was launched in 2023 by Trump and Melissa Ackerman to connect farmers with food companies and reduce waste.

The announcement quickly drew criticism on Threads , where a post about the collaboration had nearly 500,000 views by Sept. 15. Many commenters expressed disappointment.
